An impressively high Kanawha River became quite an attraction for many people in the Kanawha Valley this weekend. All over Charleston, from Kanawha City to the West Side, people marveled at the high level of the muddy, racing water.

Edwards wraps up at state swim meet

Hazleton Area's Bria Edwards finished eighth in her heat of the 500 freestyle in a time 5:27.24 during the final day of the PIAA State Swimming and Diving Championships at Croatia Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.

Although the junior was making her third trip to states, she said it was still tough to wrap her mind around the big race.
